This is fairly normal. The "life cycle" is usually pretty decent rankings quite quickly, followed by a short disappearance, and then it should pop back in.

Sites are constantly jumping around overall as well, and some sites go through periods of falling out of favor only to come back strong after a short lull. Ezinearticles.com is somewhat immune to a long-term slap, but it's still common for it to happen at the beginning.

I've had Ezinearticles properties disappear ENTIRELY from Google for weeks at a time -- to the point where I thought they had been dropped from Google's index. But they always come back.

So in short, fluctuation is normal, especially early on.
